Artifact 1: Air Quality Lab
|
This lab was written for my Environmental Issues class. This lab was to demonstrate how air quality around campus is affected by different factors such as cigarette smoke or tree coverage or the time of day the data was collected. This lab showed the different pollutants we were looking for such as Ozone, Carbon Monoxide and VOC's. In the lab report you can see that VOC's are high in peoples cars and the year and model due to the carbon monoxide. This lab was done with four other students over a two week span. By doing this lab I learned what it was like to work in a group also accomplishing communication learning outcomes. I really enjoy studying pollution and what effects it has on our planet and our health and then researching about it to understand why it needs to be controlled.

Artifact 2: Well Water Quality
|
This Lab was done for my Environmental Issues course at Stockton and this lab was to create an argument to see if you were for mandatory well testing in your chosen county or if you were against it. Madison and I were doing intense research throughout the lab to see if we were for well testing in Cape May County or against it. This lab extended my knowledge on how to search for information properly and how to work with a partner to complete a task. During this lab my communication skills were used as well as critical thinking and ethnical reasoning.
The direction that I am trying to go in for my career path, is water quality and pollution, I really enjoyed writing this lab report for the purpose of possibly seeing pollution in well water and what should be done to treat it. For our report we were for mandatory well testing even though it can be expensive the health concerns made us steer towards mandatory testing. |
